1.4 Billion Credentials Found on Dark-Net

Researchers have found a 41GB data file which contains 1.4 billion user credentials in plain text. Researchers say that this is the largest aggregate database found in the dark web to date, which passes the 711 million accounts of the Onliner Spambot dump. The file includes 252 previous dumps which indicates that the information was collected and compiled over time. It is worth noting that more than 14% of the exposed login credentials were never exposed or decrypted before. The file was organized in alphabetical order which made it easier and faster to find passwords. The author of the dump Is unknown; however, researchers are in the process of analyzing the data.
