Randy Pargman is the Senior Director of Threat Hunting and Counterintelligence at Binary Defense. In this role, Randy leads the Threat Hunting team in reverse engineering malware and developing new techniques for detecting signs of emerging threats and attacker behavior that evade or defeat traditional security solutions. He also leads the Counterintelligence and Intelligence Operations Teams in researching threat actors, finding threat information on Darknet hidden websites, criminal forums, dump sites and social media platforms.
Joining Binary Defense in 2019, Pargman had previously spent 15 years at the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a Senior Computer Scientist with the Cyber Task Force based in Seattle, Washington as well as the global Cyber Action Team.
As CEO of Binary Defense, Mike Valentine provides the strategic direction and execution of our cornerstone solutions of MDR, SIEM and Counterintelligence, as well as helps to ensure client satisfaction. Mike co-founded Binary Defense in 2014 after meeting with David Kennedy and learning about the current state of cybersecurity and the evolution of cybercriminals.
With Kennedy’s other company, TrustedSec, playing an offensive role in the penetration testing and consulting space, Mike saw a clear need for a managed security service provider on the “defensive” side that could deliver the right combination of people and technology. Together, Mike and David decided to “make the world a safer place” with Binary Defense.
Prior to Binary Defense, Mike was the Founder & President of Group Transportation Services, Inc. beginning in 1995. As leader of this organization, Mike created a proprietary operating system that managed shipments for clients in tandem with a call center. In 2010, the firm went public on the New York Stock Exchange.
Mike is also the founder and Chairman Emeritus of Seton Catholic School, and has also had sales agency roles in the expediated transportation industry.
He graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Science in Selling & Sales Management. He has been a member of YPO, a global organization of Chief Executive Officers, since 2005.
