Every tax season comes with a new set of risks involved, including threat actors using malicious attacks to steal information from tax-filers in various ways. Now, users of Intuit tax software are being targeted by threat actors posing as employees of the company and sending email from what appears to the “maintenance team”. The email informs the victim that their account has been temporarily disabled and that they must restore access to the account within 24 hours. The email directs the victim to a link that claims to immediately restore account access.
