Members of Anonymous have continued their work on the OpIcarus campaign this week. Posts have continued to be shared online which contain reconnaissance information for large banks around the world. An Anonymous account on Twitter, yellowvestsanons, shared instructions for protesters to begin protests at 23 different locations around the United States as well as 61 locations around Canada. The protests are planned to begin on December 22nd and then take place again on January 1st. At this time, it is unclear how much participation there will be seen at each of the named locations.
Analyst Notes
If these protests do begin, the likelihood of cyber-attacks beginning against government organizations and financial institutions will increase and we will likely begin to see activity similar to what other areas experiencing protests have seen.
