Chinese CVs Exposed Through Cloud Server

It is believed that personal information of over 200 million Chinese citizens was obtained through scraping multiple job pages. Proper security parameters were not in place to help protect the sensitive information. Personal data containing 854GB of information such as names, cellphone numbers, email addresses, education history, was accessed and compiled. Shortly following the public release of the data on Twitter, it was taken down from the cloud server that it was stored on, but not before it was copied 12 times. The owner of the database is still unknown at this time.

Analyst Notes

Since the owner of the data cache and the intention is not known at this time, users are suggested to keep an eye on any personal information that could possibly be affected due to their information being compromised.
