Israeli Prime Minister Highlights Iranian Cyber-Threat to the World

Iran: During an Israeli cyber-security conference in Tel Aviv, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discussed current trends in Iranian cyber-activities.  While it comes as no surprise that Iran has been attacking Israel on a daily basis with various cyber-attacks, there has been a shift in focus.  A large portion of the attacks have begun focusing on civil aviation systems.  The fear is that Iranian hackers may be able to compromise ground control systems putting thousands of lives at risk.  While the purpose of Prime Minister Netanyahu’s statements was to discuss the need to fortify defenses for Israeli civil aviation systems, Iran’s history of supporting Islamic terror organizations and providing arms and support to governments hostile to the west must be taken into account.

Analyst Notes

It is possible that any inroads that Iranian hackers make into civil aviation systems would be shared with other hostile nations and terror groups.
