Saltzer Health, a well-known urgent care provider in Idaho, has begun the notification process after learning that an employee email account had potentially unauthorized access. The breach is believed to have occurred between May 25th and June 1st of 2021. After investigations were carried out, it was learned that potentially affected information included names and contact information, driver’s license numbers and state identification numbers, and, in some cases, Social Security numbers and financial account details. The breach also impacted medical information like diagnosis, medical history, treatment details, prescription medication information, physician information, and health insurance information. Saltzer Health has been somewhat quiet about revealing details regarding the incident, but it is estimated that over 15,000 patients may have been affected.
