The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has warned investors in the United States about ongoing scams that are impersonating SEC officials using phone calls, voicemail, email, and letters. The alert comes from SEC’s Office of Investor Education and Advocacy (OIEA), which regularly issues warnings to inform investors about the latest developments in investment frauds and scams. The alert stated that they were aware of multiple scams that were being carried out against US investors. The scams are impersonating SEC phone numbers and are contacting victims asking about unauthorized transactions on their cryptocurrency account.
