Timing for OpIsrael to be Different This Year

Anonymous (OpIsrael): OpIsrael is being given a new date this year for the first time since it began in 2013.  OpIsrael was first carried out on April 7th in 2013 as it was the eve of Yom HaShoah, Israel’s Holocaust Remembrance Day, until this year when it will take place on April 4th.  Although the date of Yom HaShoah changes every year on the Georgian calendar, the date for OpIsrael has remained constant each year up until now.  There have been some discussions within Anonymous about returning to the idea of carrying out the operation on the eve of Yom HaShoah again though no change has ever been made.  At this point it is unclear why the operation has been moved to April 4th, since it does not coincide with Yom HaShoah, which will be May 1st – 2nd, or any other major Jewish or Israeli holidays.

Analyst Notes

While a number of conversations about the change are taking place, we will probably see a number of attacks scattered across April 4th to the 7th as those who are not regular participants in Anonymous operations and discussions work to catch up to the attacks which will begin on April 4th.
