Claims have been made that the first confirmed case of Russian tampering for the 2018 elections has been seen. Missouri Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill has said that there was an unsuccessful attempt by Russian actors to compromise her network. In her statement Senator McCaskill stated that a number of her staffers were targeted with a phishing campaign which mirrored the tactics used by Fancy Bear to target Hillary Clintons campaign in 2016.
