Flightradar24 Suffers Data Breach

Flightradar24 is one of the most popular flight tracking services used in the world, however, they have suffered a data breach. It is believed that the breach has compromised the email addresses and hashed passwords for more than 230,000 customers. Flightradar24 has sent an email with a password reset link to their customers informing them that a breach had occurred. It is unknown how the company was breached, however it is believed that it was due to a phishing scam. The company had revealed that the breach had only occurred on one of their servers and it was shut down immediately once the intrusion was detected. Flightradar24 has also expired the previous passwords of affected users forcing them to change their password. Users are advised to change their password for other websites if the password is shared.
