Throughout Anonymous’ support of the Yellow Vest protests, they have continued to tie it to the OpIcarus campaign. Many of the cyber-attacks that have taken place throughout the campaign have been specifically focused on the targeting of government entities. Over the past few days, the focus has shifted from government agencies to central banks. Throughout the day yesterday attacks took place against the Central Bank of Albania, the Central Bank of Mexico, the Central Bank of the Bahamas, and for the third time in this phase of OpIcarus, the Vatican. Reconnaissance work was also carried out and shared with members of Anonymous for both the Bank of Zambia and the Bank of Portugal.
Analyst Notes
As the Yellow Vest protests continue to not only take place but grow and expand top other nations the support for the cyber-attacks will likely only continue to grow as well.
