Unknown Hackers Target Critical Infrastructure in Connecticut

In statement put out by the state’s electric, gas, and water companies, as well as multiple other state officials, Connecticut announced that it has been fighting off millions of attacks per week.  The attacks have been seeking to disrupt critical infrastructure within the state as well as attempting to steal taxpayer data.  The officials did state that a number of attacks have originated within Russia, but a significant number of the attacks have been unattributed.  The state has spent an ever-increasing amount of time and money to train employees in cyber-security as well as upgrading cyber-security measures.  Attacks on critical infrastructure will likely not decrease anytime soon, meaning that utility providers will need to continue to bolster their security measures to stay ahead of these constant attacks.
