Anonymous (FreeAssange): Last night Anonymous continued to show their displeasure with Ecuador’s decision to withdraw their support to Julian Assange. Members of Anonymous targeted the Central Bank of Ecuador with a DDoS attack. The Bank was initially attacked yesterday afternoon and remains offline currently. A rally is currently being coordinated for tomorrow afternoon outside of Belmarsh Prison, where Assange is currently being held, to protest the possibility of Assange’s extradition to the United States.
Analyst Notes
It is likely that during the time of the rally that a number of DDoS attacks will be attempted against government entities in the United Kingdom, the United States and Ecuador.
