British Airways Data Breach

British Airways announced that they suffered a data breach on both their mobile app and website. Customers who made bookings between August 21st and September 5th are affected by the breach. At this time, travel and passport information have not been affected, however personal information and financial information of 380,000 customers were stolen by attackers. British Airways will be contacting the affected customers directly to inform them of the breach. As of now, all operations are running normally, but users are strongly advised to change their password to make it stronger. British Airways said, “We are deeply sorry for the disruption that this criminal activity has caused. We take the protection of our customers’ data very seriously.” Customers who believe they are affected by the breach are advised to contact their financial institutions and follow their advice.
