Following the escalation in tension over the weekend between Russia and Ukraine, the situation continues to deteriorate. This escalation poses a potential risk for any organizations who work with the Ukrainian government, Ukrainian government contractors, or within Ukrainian borders. As the situation continues between Russia and Ukraine, Russia will likely continue to seek out any and all information which could be used to exploit the Ukrainian government or weaken their defensive infrastructure, as well as critical infrastructure. As long as tensions continue, any organization who works with or sells to the Ukraine should operate at increased vigilance while tensions are high. Many Russian threat actors will utilize phishing campaigns in order to gain a foothold into victim’s networks. It is strongly urged that any organization working in Ukraine to remind employees of the danger of phishing and how to spot a phishing email.
